What is a Crowlogue, anyways?

Several years ago when I joined the Garmin Revolution, I stopped keeping a handwritten running log and set up a Strava account.  I’m not a social media user and have never been enthusiastic about leaving my name all over the Internet, so I needed to think of a good online alias.  After almost two minutes of intense consideration, I had an epiphany.  Since I was a member of Crow Athletics Running Club up in Maine, and I was going to be keeping an online running log, I decided to call myself…  Crowlog.

Then, it occurred to me that many works of writing include a prologue and an epilogue, so I finally settled on…  Crowlogue.

So what’s the point of this blog?

Last year, Strava introduced a ‘written post’ feature.  I thought that was pretty cool, and I added the occasional recipe or written piece to complement my running endeavors.  But recently, I’ve been experimenting with longer works, which don’t really fit on Strava.  I’ve decided to set up this blog as a destination for those works.  I can’t guarantee a constant flow of written content, as much of my writing depends on me being truly inspired.  But maybe a blog will encourage me to write more often.

As for the quote and picture below, I didn’t actually choose those myself.  They were sitting there as placeholders for an introductory blog post.  For now, I’ll leave them there because I’m too lazy to find something different.  Also, the dryer buzzer just went off, and I need to go fold laundry.

Anyways, thanks for stopping by.
